Are you a blogger that uses tons of photos to guide your readers through your life?
Photo uploads into wordpress take up a huge amount of digital space and each photo can be saved in multiple file sizes behind the scenes, taking up even more room.
Not a big deal if you’re only uploading a photo hear and there but many bloggers use 10+ photos per post. This results in an enormous site which can impact your hosting (if you have storage limits), your site load time (imagine 10 images x 10 posts on your home page, that’s 100 huge images loading at the same time), not to mention the size of your site’s backup file.
Easy solution: Smush.it
Simply install Smush.it through your plugins panel in WordPress (self-hosted only) and activate it.
Smush.it automatically “smushes” all of your images from this point forward and you don’t have to do a thing. If you already have a million bunch of images slowing you down, simply install Smush.it as described above then proceed to Media–>Bulk Smush.it and then click “Run all my images through Smush.it right now”.
Done.
Easy, super quick and awesome.

great tip! thank you!
