Looking for ways to increase your twitter following and grow your blog?
No single thing is going to grow your following overnight, but this one simple tip is easy to implement and can help you grow your followers while making you look like more of an authority in your niche.
Want to know what it is?
Creating a Click to Tweet quote in your blog posts.
You wanted simple, right? Well that’s simple.
Very similar to a Pinterest button under a great photograph, a click to tweet link let’s you set up a quote or phrase ahead of time and insert the link into your post. Here’s an example:
“Breathe. Know that the Internet has no eraser.” -Liz Strauss (click to tweet)
Clicking the link brings up a window to allow users to tweet the quote and I’ve already added in my twitter username as well. You can add whatever makes sense for you.
Why Using A Click to Tweet Button Can Grow Your Following
So why does this work? Well there’s a couple reasons.
People Need Content to Tweet
Part of growing a twitter following is bringing new and interesting things to the table as far as information, content and quotes. Quotes are uber popular on Twitter. It makes sense given the fact that Twitter is little bite sized pieces of information and quotes fit into that as little bite sized pieces of wisdom.
Giving your readers a super easy way to share a little quote helps them fill their twitter stream with something useful, great plus for your visitors.
Quotes Are Often From People Of Authority
Think of some recent quotes you’ve seen or retweeted. Were they from someone well known? Did you maybe assume they were from someone well known? If you have a click to tweet quote in your blog post, especially that you’ve written, once that’s tweeted, it lends you an air of authority just by association.
It’s Really Easy to Do
The way the click to tweet service is set up it removes as many barriers to sharing as you can without pushing the button for people. Visitors stay on your site (it’s just a pop up window) and the tweet is pre-written.
The only way to make it even more enticing would be to use a cool click to tweet button instead of a plain old link.
I just happened to make some cool click to tweet buttons for you that you can find on our freebies page too.
Can you think of any other uses for the Click to Tweet?
